Barclays around the world
Barclays was founded in London more than 300 years ago, and what started as a UK bank has become a global financial services business.
While the Group’s headquarters remains in London, Barclays has now established enterprises across Europe, Africa, the Americas and the Asia-Pacific region.
Barclays is made up of two ‘Clusters’: Global Retail Banking, and Corporate and Investment Banking and Wealth Management, each of which has a number of Business Units.
There are two other major areas of the business: Absa, a financial services business in South Africa, and Group Centre, which comprises a range of core functions essential to the business.
