Corporate Real Estate Services

What we do

The Corporate Real Estate Services (CRES) team is responsible for designing, procuring, managing and maintaining Barclays’ buildings worldwide.

Our global team deals with more than 35 million square feet of floor space all over the world. From high street branches to high-rise offices, Barclays occupies more than 6,000 buildings on a leasehold or freehold basis, and it falls to the Corporate Real Estate Services team to manage those assets.

The function’s responsibilities range from ensuring appropriate governance and compliance with the various property standards, to creating engaging spaces for our colleagues and customers, and maximising the sustainability of our premises.

Why join us

Barclays owns or leases properties all over the world, worth hundreds of millions of pounds. The Corporate Real Estate Services team ensures every one runs smoothly, offers our customers a great environment to visit, our colleagues a great place to work, and delivers value for the company. Exciting opportunities include working with teams all over the world on major projects. Due to our size and scale, we offer great development opportunities as well, through on-the-job experiences, our industry networks, industry courses and online training.

Sustainability is a key element of the team’s work, in line with Barclays Group-wide commitment to using energy, materials and water efficiently. The company’s 152m-tall Canary Wharf headquarters is one example of innovative thinking from the Corporate Real Estate Services team – the grassy roof is the world’s highest man-made nature reserve.
