What we do

The role of Barclays Investor Relations team is to manage Barclays communication with institutional investors and the stock market. The team works closely with analysts to ensure the market is well informed about Barclays performance and that consensus is closely aligned to our own forecasts.

The team’s responsibilities include providing quarterly trading updates, interim and preliminary results announcements, and content for Barclays Annual Report.

On the shareholder side, the team also arranges meeting between Barclays executives and investment portfolio managers, and investor roadshows where institutional shareholders and analysts have an opportunity to find out more about our strategy.

The team communicates with existing and potential shareholders all over the world several times a day, working with teams across Barclays to answer their queries and source information they may request about the Group.

A role within Investor Relations also offers the chance to develop a detailed understanding of financial markets, as it’s vital the team constantly monitors share prices and analyst recommendations.

Training in a wealth of business skills is available via Barclays online and classroom-based courses, but much of the sector-specific skills are learned though experience.
