Download videoNearly 1,000 customers, clients and employees participated in this year's Barclays Take One Small Step into the Night walk in London, which took place on Wednesday, 21 September.
The event was organised in partnership with UNICEF and UK broadcaster Heart radio’s Have a Heart charity.
Heart radio presenters Nick Snaith and Nicola Bonn led the pre-walk entertainment, including an on-stage interview with British singer and songwriter Lemar.
The festival atmosphere livened up Potters Fields Park, where participants had their faces painted and warmed up in a session led by cheerleaders from Zoo Fever.
Lemar, Nick and Nicola led the countdown to the start of the walk and cut the ribbon to set off the first group of participants.
Walkers took in the sights and sounds of the city, passing landmarks such as the Golden Jubilee Bridge and St Paul’s Cathedral as they gleamed against the backdrop of the night sky. Along the route, participants were entertained by buskers, a gospel choir and stilt-walkers.
The event raised funds towards transforming the lives of children in the UK and around the world by providing education and improving healthcare.

Individuals can also donate £10 by simply texting STEP4410 to 70070 from their personal mobile phone. The cost of the text is free and 100 per cent of the donation goes directly to UNICEF and Have a Heart.

Step into the Night - 2010
More than 800 Barclays colleagues and customers took part in the walk on 30 September 2010, raising more than £60,000 to support vulnerable children in Rwanda and London.

Barclays employees, customers, friends and families took part in two sponsored 10-mile night walks in London and Manchester in September 2009, to raise funds for UNICEF's Rwanda education project.
