Disability diversity at Barclays
Disability Listening Group
Supported by Barclays Group Chief Executive John Varley, the Disability Listening Group meets annually, and offers disabled colleagues a chance to meet with senior leaders from the global business. Barclays Regional Disability Forums also meet regularly throughout the year, to discuss issues and ideas.
Reasonable Adjustments scheme
Barclays Reasonable Adjustments policy makes the workplace more accessible for disabled colleagues.
Reach network
Reach is Barclays UK support network for disabled colleagues and provides a forum for ideas, networking, career development, socialising and promoting positive change. In 2008, Reach activities included lunches hosted by Barclays senior leaders, careers advice workshops and presentations by motivational speakers. Reach members at Barclaycard have also created sign language video clips for Barclays intranet, for deaf colleagues.
Disability mentoring scheme
Under Barclays ‘Unlock Your Potential’ programme, employees are invited to become mentors to disabled colleagues.
We also have a disability helpline that provides disabled colleagues and their line managers with advice and guidance on disability issues.
