  • Barclays CreditFocus allows business owners to carry out online credit checks on up to five customers or suppliers.

    The service also helps users know how safe it is to do businesses with new and existing customers, offers alerts on the credit health of selected businesses and helps users chase unpaid debts.

    From 2008, the CreditFocus service was made available free of charge to all UK small businesses, whether they are Barclays customers or not.
  • In 2008, Barclays Capital played a critical role in a major acquisition in the UK energy market – the acquisition of British Energy by EDF.
