Colleagues who have excelled in supporting their communities were today recognised at the Barclays Chairman’s Awards in June 2008.

The annual ceremony honours Barclays employees across the globe who have played an integral part in promoting diversity, financial inclusion and environmental awareness through volunteering.

Among the accolades this year were a team from Barclays Wealth in Hong Kong, who supported charity Crossroads International, which distributes goods to needy families all over the world. Also among the winners was a San Francisco-based Barclays Global Investors employee, who organised charity poker tournaments which raised more than $150,000.

This year 311 nominations from 24 countries were submitted to the Chairman’s Awards judges.
